BOOST is a partnership between the Faculty of Kinesiology at UNB and the Chief Harold Sappier Memorial Elementary School at St. Mary's First Nation. The partnership was developed to assist in the delivery of a cohesive programme of healthy and active living for elementary school children. It focuses on physical activity and is supported by healthful eating and other positive lifestyle activities such as literacy.

UNB Kinesiology students volunteer at the school to help the elementary school children become more active on a daily basis, and to serve as healthy and active living role models. UNB students teach physical education and physical activities, and conduct special projects such as those organized during "healthy heart" month, and special winter outdoor activities. Students also organize lunch-time and after-school activities.

UNB students benefit from the opportunities to work with children and school staff, and to develop their own skills in teaching and organizing activities. They may also work towards UNB Kinesiology activity credits.
